We’ve all heard the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, but it’s human nature to choose the most visually appealing book with the most interesting cover. With that in mind, I knew I wanted the cover of Luminous to be true to its name and to forecast to the reader that they were in for a narrative treat filled with enchantment, intrigue and mesmerizing characters. Abigail Sloan is the amazingly talented artist behind the incredible artwork on the cover. Years prior to the publishing of Luminous, I commissioned her to do a watercolor painting of one of my Psyne characters, Ilauria (pronounced “Ill-lore-ree-uh). The end result speaks for itself! Joanna Bishop is responsible for the absolutely stunning cover design and she took the rich watercolor of Ilauria and transformed her into a bonafide fantasy book cover. I couldn’t be happier with the end product. I’ll be blogging more this week on both of these extraordinary artists and what a privilege it is to be able to collaborate with them on the Psyne Series projects.
